We
have an excellent opportunity available for organized and detail-oriented
Underwriters located in major metro cities across the nation.
They
are currently seeking skilled, knowledgeable and experienced Underwriters to
perform the review of loans to evaluate compliance with government regulations,
investor guidelines, and company policies & procedures.
Working
under minimal supervision, the selected candidates will underwrite loans
originated by our client to ensure that all loans meet the proper credit
criteria in accordance with our clients Underwriting Guidelines. Will be
expected to practice common sense underwriting, using sound judgment to assign
risk and ensure acceptable loan quality.
PRIMARY
RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:

Reviews closed loan files to ensure thoroughness and compliance with applicable
regulations and company policies.

Reviews approval underwriting standards, according to our client’s signing
authority matrix.
-
Interfaces with third party vendors to re-verify loan information. This list
includes credit bureaus, appraisers, financial institutions, title companies,
borrowers, and employers.

Reviews loan conditions ensuring all requested items, per the loan approval,
are valid and all required stipulations are met.

Maintains high service levels toward internal and external customers.

Participates in the compilation of review data and reports.
-
Identifies and recommends solutions to correct deficiencies.

Participates in the compilation of review data and reports.

Collects and enters loan review data for reports, and completes supporting
worksheets and document package.

System design skills, knowledge of software development processes, object
oriented methodologies.

Secondary knowledge of the exception process helpful, but not required.

Ability to compose effective written communication. Superior communication
skills, both oral and written, are required.
-
Superior computer skills, including Windows 95/98, NT, 2000, Microsoft Word,
Excel, Power Point, MS Project, Internet Explorer. Knowledge and experience
with Visual Basic, ASP, Access, SQL Server is highly desirable.

Must be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with
co-workers, company personnel.

Must display a high level of initiative, effort and commitment towards
completing assignments efficiently.

Ability to work under minimal supervision with ability to demonstrate
responsible behavior and attention to detail. Must be able to prioritize

This
company is a leading non-conforming wholesale mortgage banking organization,
and is a wholly-owned subsidiary of one of the nations largest financial
institutions.

JOB
RESPONSIBILITIES:
-
Risk management within the Secondary Marketing team. Candidate must become well
versed in all pricing models, pricing utilities, and pooling utilities.

Responsible for all hedging strategies, including forward deliveries.

Manage pipeline and loan sales to maximize corporate profitability and
underwriting execution.

Manage and direct trading and settlement of loan pool.
-
Key management liaison with Production - responsible for proactive approach in
addressing sales and production issues.

Manage existing investor relationships, and responsible for the assessment and
building of new relationships, including contract negotiations.

Proactive management of all compliance and regulatory issues impacting the
pricing activities.

Manage master contract and general contract negotiations.

Partner with the Credit Department and Whole Loan Delivery to monitor
performance trends impacting whole loan sale execution and securitization
performance.

Coordination with credit department and investors in development of new
products and enhancements to existing guidelines.

Key liaison for securitization issues with investors and Rating Agencies

Research and recommend structural opportunities to maximize execution on
securitizations.

Communicates the secondary market environment and educates the Secondary Team
and Senior Management on technical issues impacting the industry and the
company.
CANDIDATE
REQUIREMENTS:
-
BS in Accounting, Finance, Mathematics, Business, or Economics. Advanced
business degree strongly preferred but not required.
-
Minimum of 10-15+ years of practical experience in Secondary Marketing,
Pricing, or Securitization role. Candidate should have strong background in the
mortgage industry, mortgage credit, and/or home equity products. Financial
services background a plus.

Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
-
Experience managing a team of professionals. Securitization background
preferred, but not required. Portfolio management, fixed income investment
banking, or fixed income trading experience is a plus.
